Remove Embedded Fonts

You may have noticed that DOCX files, the standard Word format, have been getting larger than expected recently.

One of the reasons could be that Word is embedding the files of the fonts used in the document. By default, Word saves the installation files all fonts used in a document, apart from their current default font, Aptos.

This means that documents using the previous default font, Callibri, when saved in a recent version of Word also includes the files for Callibri, including the specialised files for italic, bold, heading, etc. Each one of these font files can run to 1Mb or more, hugely inflating document file sizes.
