Explanation

PerfectIt checks to see if brackets and quotes have been closed.

Example

PerfectIt will highlight the phrase ‘(only seven years old’ in this sentence because the bracket is not closed:

Fred started at a young age (only seven years old.

Exceptions

PerfectIt looks for curly quotation marks (both single and double). It does not look for straight quotation marks. This can lead to confusion if your document mixes the two.

For example, if you start a quote with a curly quote but end in a straight quote, PerfectIt will view this as a quote that has not been closed.

The solution is to change the straight quotation mark at the end to a curly quote.
