Explanation
PerfectIt checks if an abbreviation has been defined in two different ways.
Example
If the abbreviation ‘ITT’ is defined in one location as ‘Invitation to Tender’ and in another location as ‘International Trade Team’, PerfectIt will suggest that there is an issue.
Suggestion
To avoid confusion, an abbreviation should have only one definition. One of the two meanings should be spelled out in full each time.
If this is not corrected, PerfectIt will not be able to distinguish between the different meanings in subsequent checks.
Other Locations
By default, PerfectIt displays only the locations where the abbreviation is defined.
Other locations where the abbreviation is used, along with other definitions for that abbreviation if there are more than two in the document, can be viewed by selecting Show extra locations below the locations list.
